About the brand
The story of Chichibu Distillery is deeply tied to the path of its legendary distiller, Ichiro Akuto. His family founded Hanyu for premium whiskies, but economic downturn forced its closure in 2000. Later, Akuto redeemed 400 Hanyu barrels, rebottling them to acclaim in Europe and America, paving the way for Chichibu's launch in 2007. Chichibu captivates spirit enthusiasts with rich layers and evolving flavors, and has soared in international markets.
