About the brand
Kumesen Shuzo, a renowned awamori brewery in Okinawa, was founded in 1949. It first specialized in awamori made with black koji and Thai rice. The brewery later launched its grain whisky brand Kujira, aging awamori spirit in oak casks. Kujira offers earthy tones and plum-like aromas rooted in traditional awamori. Its expressions carry a distinctly Okinawan character that feels both rustic and refined. If you seek a unique island whisky, Kujira delivers a memorable taste of Okinawa.
