Brewery Introduction
Shiratama Jozo was founded in 1904 at the southern tip of Kagoshima's Osumi Peninsula. It specialises in honkaku shochu, the single-distilled spirits made solely from raw ingredients and water. Kagoshima's volcanic ash soil is ideal for sweet potatoes, fostering its famed imo-shochu tradition. Shiratama is adored locally, and its flagship Maou is one of three legendary shochus alongside Moriizo and Murao.
