Fukurokuju Shuzo was founded in 1688 in Gokaimachi, Akita. It places exceptional emphasis on rice quality, partnering closely with local farmers of the “Gokaimachi Sake Rice Research Association“ to use the finest Akita varieties — Miyamanishiki, Misatonishiki, Ginnosei and Akita Sake Komachi. Brewing with medium-hard water rich in calcium and magnesium, it produces consistently high-quality sakes that pair really well with different cuisines.
