Brewery Introduction
Shiraito Shuzo was founded in 1855 in Itoshima, Fukuoka, taking its name from the famous Shiraito Waterfall nearby. It is one of the few breweries that still uses the traditional wooden hane-ki press. Its classic Shirataki has long been a local favourite, while the newer Tanaka Rokujugo, developed by current owner, has gained worldwide acclaim. Using Itoshima-grown Yamada Nishiki, its balanced and richly flavoured sakes make excellent mealtime companions.
