Brewery Introduction

Hato Masamune Shuzo in Towada in Aomori draws its name from the Showa era, meaning 'Real Dove'. A white dove nested on the brewery's altar, ushering in prosperity and convincing the brewery that the dove was a deity of good fortune. The brewery only uses soft water from Oirase Stream and local rice varieties like Hanazoi, Hanafubuki, and Gin Eboshi to craft authentic Aomori sake. Today, Hato Masamune has won 12 gold medals at the Annual Japan Sake Awards and earned Aomori's Master Craftsman in 2014.
